The Coconut Coast – Punta Cana & Bávaro
Discover the Coconut Coast, home to some of the Dominican Republic’s most beautiful beaches. This stunning stretch of coastline runs for over 50 miles from Bávaro to Uvero Alto, featuring soft white sand, crystal-clear waters and rows of coconut palms that give the area its name.
Punta Cana lies on the island’s eastern tip, in the province of La Altagracia, and includes popular resort areas such as Bávaro and El Cortecito. Bávaro is the heart of the region, known for its lively atmosphere, long palm-lined beach, excellent resorts, shopping and dining – perfect for those who want both relaxation and entertainment.
While Punta Cana itself remains peaceful and uncrowded, its close connection to Bávaro and other nearby beach areas makes it one of the Caribbean’s top holiday destinations. Occasionally, natural seaweed known as sargassum may appear along the coast due to ocean currents, but hotel teams work hard to keep beaches clean and enjoyable.
With its tropical scenery, warm waters and variety of resorts, the Coconut Coast offers the perfect Caribbean escape.
